GOOD MORNING FROM STAGE 2 OF THE UAE TOUR WOMEN 2025

Another opportunity for the sprinters awaits, but the wind could shake things up. Lorena Wiebes starts with the Red Jersey as the GC leader

Al Dhafra Fort, 7 February 2025 – Good morning from Stage 2 of the third edition of the UAE Tour Women, the one and only UCI Women’s WorldTour race in the Middle East, organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and taking place from 6 to 9 February.

Today’s stage profile is flat, but crossing the desert combined with strong winds could shake things up. Lorena Wiebes, a four-time stage winner, starts the day in the Red Jersey, but many rivals are eager to take revenge on the European champion.

STAGE 2, AL DHAFRA FORT-AL MIRFA, 111 KM – AL MIRFA STAGE

The Route

The desert stage. It starts from Al Dhafra Fort in the desert to reach Madinat Zayed. There are wide, straight roads punctuated by sequences of roundabouts as the route arrives in the built-up area. After passing the city, the route crosses the desert again for over 60 km toward the coast, heading directly to Al Mirfa.

Final kilometres

The finale takes place on a wide road with perfect pavement and just one curve at a roundabout before the final straight. The finishing straight is 8 meters wide and on asphalt.

TV COVERAGE
Host broadcasters Abu Dhabi Sports and Dubai Sports will produce a full coverage live international feed for every stage, and also provide local cycling fans in the UAE and in the whole MENA region with full live coverage of the event.
