GOOD MORNING FROM STAGE 3 OF THE UAE TOUR WOMEN 2025

After yesterday’s record-breaking day, it’s time for the queen stage of this edition, featuring the 10.8 km climb to Jebel Hafeet.

Ameera Alrashdi from Qasr Al Muwaiji gave the start to stage 3 of the UAE Tour Women 2025

Al Ain Qasr Al Muwaiji, 8 February 2025 – Good morning from Stage 3 of the third edition of the UAE Tour Women, the one and only UCI Women’s WorldTour race in the Middle East, organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and taking place from 6 to 9 February.

After yesterday’s epic battle in the desert, it’s time for the first uphill finish of the UAE Tour Women. The 10.8 km final climb to Jebel Hafeet could be decisive in the fight for final victory. Elisa Longo Borghini, who triumphed on these slopes in 2023, looks like the main favourite for the Red Jersey as she starts with an advantage of 1’30” over Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Juliette Labous, and with 2’38” over Mavi Garcia and Ashleigh Moolman Pasio.

The peloton, 112 riders strong, passed km 0 at 12.15. Did not start dossard n° 73 Lèa Curinier (FDJ – Suez).

STAGE 3, AL AIN QASR AL MUWAIJI-JEBEL HAFEET, 152 KM – ALDAR STAGE

The route

The classic mountain stage of the UAE Tour Women. In the first part, the route winds its way through Al Ain, where many of its landmarks (Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, UAE University) are visited, then takes a long ride through the desert along Truck Road E30 and eventually returns to Green Mubazzarah. Here begins the final climb of Jebel Hafeet, which – at 10 km long – will be the final judge of the race.

Final kilometres

The final climb winds through wide-ranging hairpin bends on a 3-lane roadway. Gradients are mainly around 8-9%, peaking at 11% with 3 km to go. There is a very short descent in the last km, before the closing ramp. The finish line is on straight asphalt.

TV COVERAGE
Host broadcasters Abu Dhabi Sports and Dubai Sports will produce a full coverage live international feed for every stage, and also provide local cycling fans in the UAE and in the whole MENA region with full live coverage of the event.

The race will be broadcast live on Discovery+ and Eurosport in South Asia and Europe. Additionally, Staylive will provide live coverage in New Zealand, the MENA region, and Africa.
